The pharmaceutical giant Pfizer, world famous for Viagra, is shifting the focus of its research.  Pfizer is moving its research away from conditions such as arthritis, obesity, osteoporosis, liver and muscle diseases, anaemia and peripheral arterial disease.  Instead Pfizer will concentrate on areas such as mental illness, with research into Alzheimer’s disease and schizophrenia.  Cancer will also get a big research focus along with diabetes, immune disorders and pain management.  Pfizer considers these areas to have unmet medical need, which probably means they are likely to be very lucrative financially.  Our readers will be pleased to know that sexual health will still feature in research by this giant that produces Viagra.
