It has come to our notice, and to the notice of others, that UK citizens are using the Swine Flu panic to protect their holiday bookings. Some airlines are refusing flights to anyone they suspect of having influenza. Scanners are in use at some airports to spot travellers who are running a high temperature. Smart holiday makers are wising up and pretending to be infected and contacting the health service to tell them they have the first signs of flu infection so that they can get hold of the free Tamiflu supplies being given out to people to beat the flu outbreak. They are then waiting until ten days before their trip and starting a course of Tamiflu to prevent them becoming infected and risking being refused access to their flight. This is now common and almost certainly pushing up the reported instances of flu infection.
For those who can't bring themselves to steal from the government, there is always the online solution through sites such as ours. There are still some honest folks about too judging from our Tamiflu orders! |
