A Chinese national, Kevin Xu, has been sentenced in the USA for distributing fake drugs worldwide. He exported using the Internet from a company he had established in China. In addition to the six years jail without parole he has been ordered to pay compensation totalling $1.28 million to Eli Lilliy and Pfizer, manufacturers known for producing Cialis and Viagra and other well-known drugs. He apparently targeted the USA and UK and had a range of 25 products he could manufacture. The fakes were an identical replication of the real thing, apart from the ingredients, which were deficient and contained unknown impurities.
Records indicate that Xu had made sales in 2007 of at least $1.5 million, which just shows how careful people should be when shopping on line. Choose a company that can be identified and verified. |
