Following our story earlier this year of the success of Levitra in aiding the delivery of cancer fighting drugs we now have another documented story of a similar success for Viagra. Many cancers are treated with a Doxorubin, an antibiotic that kills off cancer cells. It is very toxic though and this, coupled with the nasty side effects, limits the dose. A team at Virginia Commonwealth University decide to assess the effects of combining Viagra with Doxorubin. The team found that it boosted the anti tumour effects in human prostate cancer cells and in live mice, while at the same time protecting the heart in mice. The team believe Viagra is an excellent candidate for incorporation into cancer treatment protocols with the potential to enhance the anti tumour performance while at the same time protecting the heart from short and longer term damage. Viagra adds another plus to its long line of benefits. It really is a wonder drug. |
